The floating chain produced by
Trough Chain Conveyor mainly because the scraper chain is subjected to friction in the using process, resulting in wear and expansion, which makes the original tight scraper chain loose, and the irregularity and viscosity of the material particles make some particles slowly drill into the scraper chain to lift the scraper chain, causing it to float in the bulk material due to buoyancy. The structure type, pitch, material and tension mode of scraper chain have a direct impact on its wear elongation and buoyancy, which is internally related to the generation of floating chain. The turning radius of material groove also has a certain impact on the floating chain.
1.Selecting a reasonable type of chain structure. There are two chains used commonly in Trough Chain Conveyor, forging chain and plate chain. The contact area of the forging chain and the material is larger, and the contact area between the plate chain and the material is smaller, so the forging chain is greatly affected by the buoyancy of the material, and the floating chain is easy to be generated, and the plate chain has better buoyancy resistance. On the other hand, the wear elongation of the chain depends mainly on the type of connection between the chain link and the stud. In order to prevent the floating chain, the plate type sleeve roller chain should be selected as the scraper chain of Trough Chain Conveyor.
2.Selecting the wear resistant materials. The wear elongation of the chain is related to the wear resistance of the material in addition to the structure. In order to reduce the amount of wear, the chain material should be made of high-quality steel with high wear resistance. Generally, low-alloy steel can be used with a certain surface heat treatment or chemical heat treatment to further improve the wear resistance of the material. With the development of the plastics industry, wear-resistant plastics have been used instead of steel to obtain a scraper chain with light weight and low wear, which is more conducive to eliminating the floating chain.
3. Choosing the chain pitch reasonably.The wear elongation of the chain is also related to the number of wear points, which in turn is related to the pitch of the chain. Therefore, in order to control the wear elongation of the chain, a larger chain pitch is applied. However, when the pitch is too large, the dynamic load is increased, which in turn affects the stability of the material layer, and the thickness of the material layer is lowered, which ultimately leads to a decrease in the output of
Trough Chain Conveyor.
4. Straining the scraper chain regularly to maintain proper tension. Due to the certain wear elongation of the scraper chain in process using, the tension of the chain is gradually reduced, so the tension should be periodically performed, and the straining period is determined according to the wear condition, and the tension is generally tightened once every six months. In addition, constant force tension device can be used to automatically eliminate wear elongation, always maintain appropriate tension, can better prevent the occurrence of floating chain.
5. Ensuring the quality of the incoming materials. The particle size and viscosity of the incoming materials have a certain influence on the floating chain, especially the viscosity. Because when the material is more viscous, it is easier to adhere to the bottom surface of the trough, and the scraper chain is slowly separated from the bottom surface of the trough, resulting in a floating chain. Therefore, the moisture content of the materials should be controlled to prevent excessive viscosity, so as to effectively prevent the generation of floating chain.
