1.The influence on production environment and safety
The moisture content of dry shavings is generally controlled at (2±0.5) %, which is divided into oversize shavings, core shavings, surface shavings and excessive fine materials after sifted through tumbler screen. In the process of screening, the dust in the dry shavings is in the floating state, and a slight damage to the flexible connection will lead to dust escaping, which will not only worsen the operating environment of the whole screening workshop, but also have the risk of fire and deflation. 2.The influence on production costs
Wet shavings become hard as thorns after drying,and the temperature is about 60 ℃. When the shavings enter and leave the swing sifter,they constantly rub against the inner wall of the flexible connections,lead to the flexible connections being worn or punctured by the shavings. Because of the high temperature of shavings, the aging of flexible connection materials is accelerated, and the permeability of flexible connection materials decreases after aging. It is easier to perforate or be torn by swing screen and reduce the service life of flexible connection.
3.The influence on productivity
Tumbler screen is in the upper and lower swing state when working, personnel are strictly prohibited to approach and contact. If the flexible connection is found damaged in the process of operation,the tumbler screen must be sure stop and can not replace it until the screen is completely in a static state and powered off. From the shutdown to the end of replacement and restarting to feeding material will delay the production time at least 30 min, reducing the production efficiency.
Measures to improve the service life of flexible connection of tumbler screen:
1.Try out new materials
Flexible connection materials require breathable, resistant to a certain temperature and good wear resistance, have used denim, non-woven fabric, polyester cloth, pure cotton cloth, sail cloth and other materials, the service life is general.Canvas has the shortest service life, less than 1 hour. Non-woven fabric has better service life and effect, and can be used for nearly a week.
2.Increase the steel rings
The service life can be extended by adding steel ring in the middle of flexible connection. Steel ring will open the flexible connection,this will make the dry shavings fall down from the middle,try to avoid too much contact between dry shavings and flexible connection, thus extending its service life.
3.Change chute connection mode
The tumbler screen is always in swing state. One of the upper and lower joints is stationary state and the other one is always in the dynamic state. It is impossible to complete hard steel chute connection. Although the service life of flexible connection is prolonged via material renewal and steel rings increase, the effect is not so good. To achieve better results, we need to completely block the contact between the shavings and the flexible connection, so that the dry shavings through the steel chute into the lower end, there is no connection friction between the dry shavings and flexible connection. Avoid damage to the tumbler screen by rigid collision of the big and small barrels when the sieve swings. The big and small tube gap needs the flexible connection cloth bag to seal the dust proof and the exhaust, the flexible connection does not directly contact with the dry shaver, has greatly extended the service life, reduce the loss because of frequently stops to replace the flexible connection, more importantly has improved the environment and reduced the pollution.
