At present, when not using the conveyor cover, the belt conveyor mainly uses trestle structure, while the trestle can be divided into three types: enclosed type ( it contains the platform), semi-enclosed type ( it contains the platform), and the open type. It can protect the belt conveyor from the rain, sun, and other external environment influence. However, the cost is relatively expensive and difficult to make construction, when the conveyor cover is used to the enclosed and semi-enclosed type trestle. To the open type trestle, though it is not the envelop enclosure, and the construction cost is much few compared with the enclosed and semi-enclosed type, it will increase the maintenance effort and the conveying material is also affected by the climatic factors, because it makes the belt conveyor exposed to the air. Thus, it should design a conveyor cover, achieve the low construction cost to keep the belt conveyor away from the exposure and rain, reduce the influence affected by the outside conditions on the belt conveyor when transporting materials. A new design type of conveyor cover is produced to overcome the technology shortcomings when the belt conveyor run in the outside suffering the exposure and rain, at the meantime, the conveying material will not affected by the external natural conditions, also the it will not affect the regular maintenance for the belt conveyor. What’s more, its cost is less than of the semi-enclosed trestle type with simple construction structure and artistic outline. When installation for the conveyor cover , it should be set up multiple arch support frames to the trestle or the middle girder, and the profiled sheet is laid on the arch support. While the distance from the top of the arch support to the belt should not be less than 500mm or 3 times the distance of the maximum particles of the conveying materials ( choose the larger value), and the profiled sheet thickness should be between 0.35~0.7mm. The core of the conveyor cover lies in that reduce the envelope area, under the premise of ensuring the normal operation and maintenance of the belt conveyor is not affected. Implementation plan: First, it should be fixed several angle irons to the trestle or middle girder within the width of the belt conveyor, and the arch support is set at a pitch of 120 (T2000mm, the minimum distance from the top conveyor cover to the belt conveyor should be 500mm or the 3 times of the conveying materials). Then it should set up 0.35 and 0.7mm profiled sheets along with the belt conveyor to the arch support.
After adopting the new design type of conveyor cover, the regular maintenance of belt conveyor, such as the replace the roller and roller frame, observe whether the deviation happens to the belt, would be easy to complete these tasks. Also, the rain would not disturb the conveying material, the service of the belt, roller, and support is increased because of the excellent toughness and protective value.
