1 . Carrying section
The roller group of the universal belt conveyor with loaded branches is a three-section trough idler. The air-cushion belt conveyor trough panel has a circular arc shape. After comparison, in the case of the same bandwidth, stacking angle, and groove angle, The maximum load-carrying area of the two forms is not much different, that is, the conveying capacity of the two models is comparable.
2. Belt speed
At present, belt conveyors are increasingly developing in the direction of high-speed, large-capacity, long-distance, and the improvement of belt speed depends on two aspects.
(1) Necessity. When designing a belt conveyor, the higher the belt speed, the better. The following factors should be considered:
It is more economical to use high-speed narrow belts only when transporting large volumes and long distances. When the material level is too large, a belt with a certain bandwidth must be used. In this case, increasing the belt speed does not reduce the bandwidth and equipment size. There is no point in choosing a high-speed belt.
(2) Possibility. When selecting high-speed belts, consider the following issues: a. The relative speed of the conveying material and the air is too high, and the material may be blown away; b. If the conveyor inclination is large, the belt speed is too high and the acceleration section of the fashion material is too long. In the acceleration section, the movement of the material is not stable.
When the belt speed is increased, the universal belt conveyor needs a long-life bearing and a well-structured sealing device, and the air-cushion belt conveyor does not need to consider these problems, so the air-cushioning machine is easy to use a high belt speed.
3. Energy consumption
After adopting the air cushion support, the running resistance of the belt conveyor is significantly reduced, which reduces the energy consumption of the drive device. Although the energy consumption of the blower is increased, the total energy consumption is reduced. The running resistance of the loaded branch is proportional to the length of the conveyor, and in terms of the operating resistance per unit length (excluding the lifting resistance), the air-cushion belt conveyor is more energy-efficient than the universal belt conveyor.
