Bucket elevator is a kind of vertical lifting equipment, which can be divided into
belt bucket elevator and chain Bucket elevator according to the classification criteria. Here, we will focus on the belt Bucket Elevator, which will encounter certain problems in the process of use. Here, we will mainly introduce the bearing failure of the Bucket elevator and the solutions, as well as the notes in the process of use of the belt Bucket elevator.
Fault 1: Bucket elevator bearing contamination
Bearings are precision components and cannot operate unless they and their lubricants are kept away from contaminants. IN addition, since pre-lubricated sealed bearings account for only a small proportion of all bearings, at least 14 per cent of premature bearing failures are due to contamination. SKF has unmatched bearing manufacturing and design capabilities to customize sealing solutions for complex operating environments.
Failure 2: Improper installation of bucket elevator bearings
Sixteen percent of premature bearing failures are due to improper mounting and neglect of proper mounting tools. Different installations may require mechanical, hydraulic, or heating methods for proper installation and removal. Based on its engineering services technical knowledge, SKF provides a full range of tools and equipment to make assembly work simple, fast and cost-effective. The installation of special tools and techniques is an important step in achieving a trouble-free running time for the machine.
Failure 3: Improper lubrication of
belt bucket elevator bearing
Although this need not be considered in the case of maintenance-free bearings, 36 per cent of premature bearing failures are due to incorrect or insufficient technical parameters of the lubricant to meet the application requirements. The inevitable result is that bearings without proper lubrication will fail before their expected service life. Because bearings are usually untouchable parts of a machine, neglect of lubrication can lead to various problems. When manual lubrication is not available, SKF's fully automatic lubrication system can be used for better lubrication. Lubrication is achieved using the recommended SKF greases, lubrication tools, and techniques, which helps significantly reduce downtime.
The use of the belt bucket elevator can be divided into two parts, mainly for the no-load running test machine before use and the test operation after use.
1. No-load test operation of
belt bucket elevator:
Check whether there are any remains, iron pieces or other sundry items in the hoist, if any, remove them;
Check that all parts of the bucket elevator are in good condition and that the tension in the bucket elevator belt is adequate.
The guide rail, reducer and transmission chain of the rear bearing housing shall be completely smooth;
After the above preparation is completed, manually rotate the trolley to check whether the traction chain is rubbing against the housing. When there is no fault, the power can be turned on and the crane can be started several times. If the operation is normal, the bucket elevator can start the trial operation slowly
Debugging operation should be carried out under unified command to avoid confusion during debugging. Parking management personnel should strictly abide by the code, not leave the post without permission.
Cover all access covers and place enough asbestos wire or other gaskets on them, waiting for load test.
Load test can only be carried out after the no-load train runs for 2 hours and the operating conditions are satisfactory.
In the first, tail and central parts of several places, should be responsible for the investigation of the operation, the discovery of problems in a timely manner.
2. Crane load test operation:
Start without load first, after normal operation, feed gradually, strive to uniform feed, do not suddenly feed too much, in order to prevent congestion or overload. Don't load before starting.
During debugging, the housing shall be completely sealed to prevent data outflow. All materials in the elevator hopper should be removed in front of the elevator when parking.
During the trial run (no-load trial run and load trial run), the original recorded data such as voltage, current, power, chain speed and lifting capacity shall be prepared and checked for compliance with the planning requirements. Whether there is a return phenomenon, how the bucket elevator oscillates.
